Mission 3 - Overview
Updated over a week ago

Welcome to your final mission! As we said in the first and second mission, these missions are designed to teach you core elements of Method functionality

Although you are able to start with any mission, we recommend you complete them in order from start to finish to get the most out of the training experience. Each mission follows a larger narrative centered around building your first app in Method.

Requirements

In order to complete this Mission Pack, you need to have an understanding of:

What You'll Learn

This final mission pack will bring together everything we’ve learned by adding functionality to an app through the use of events and actions. We will walk you through the process of using app logic to apply the appropriate events and actions to the objects on your screens so by the end of this mission your app will be fully functional! Once you complete the following missions, you will know how to:

  • Add events to controls.

  • Associate multiple actions to events

  • Identify the difference between events and actions, and how they apply to objects

  • Where and when to use events and actions

The Scenario

Valerie, the owner of We Drive Stuff, Inc., has been using Method to build her own app to maintain a record of her drivers and their vehicles. The last mission pack walked you through the particulars of designer mode and built out the framework of the New Car and Car List screens of our Cars app.

In this mission, we’ll add functionality to our screens by adding events and actions to the objects in each screen. By the time we’re done, we will witness the power of a fully-operational Method app!
