Method users who are using Office 365 email server settings must configure two things:

  • Each Method user's personal email settings.
  • The Method account's company email settings

Configure Each User's Personal Email Preferences

The personal email preferences must be updated for this, as opposed to the company email settings.

1. Click the circular blue icon in the top right and then select Account Settings

2. Click Email on the Account Settings screen.

3. Under Personal Settings uncheck the box 'Use company email settings' to bring up the following:

  • Email Server: smtp.office365.com
  • Email User Name: typically your full email address.
  • Email Password :the same password used to access your email.
  • Port: 587
  • Use SSL: Checked. This is a security feature common for email servers.
  • Click Save.

Click Test User Email Server Settings and wait for on-screen confirmation.

Note: Make sure you do not set up the Company Settings. We'll do that in the next section!

Configure Company's Office365 Email Settings

If using the Company Settings for multiple Method users, you must make changes in both Method and the Office 365 admin center. We will cover the changes in Method first, followed by those in Office 365.

Changes to Method Company Email Settings

1. Still in the Email Account Settings within Method (as shown above), scroll down to Company Settings.

  • Email Server: smtp.office365.com
  • Email User Name: typically your full email address.
  • Email Password :the same password used to access your email.
  • Port: 587
  • Use SSL: Checked. This is a security feature common for email servers.

Click Test Company Email Server Settings and wait for on-screen confirmation.

Changes to Office 365

  1. Log into the Office 365 as Admin.
  2. Navigate to the Admin Center.
  3. Click Users then Active Users.
  4. Select the user with matching email as the one currently being set up in Method.
  5. Under the user profile expand Mail Settings then edit mailbox permissions.
