QuickBooks Desktop – Unrecoverable Error.

Unrecoverable error occurs when any contact is added to a Vendor or Customer in QuickBooks Desktop.

Updated over a week ago

When adding a Contact to a Customer or Vendor in QuickBooks Desktop, an “Unrecoverable error” will occur when attempting to sync with Method.

📌 This is currently a bug on Intuit’s side, where adding any new Contact (Primary, Secondary, or Additional) to a Customer or Vendor in QuickBooks Desktop results in an Unrecoverable Error.

Resolution

You will need to update your QuickBooks Desktop file by following the steps below:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop

  2. Go to the Help menu on the top navigation bar and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.

  3. In the Update window, navigate to the “Update Now” tab.

  4. Ensure “Critical Fixes” is checked (along with any other available updates).

  5. Click “Get Updates” and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

Once the update is complete, please:

  • Retry the sync through the Method Sync Engine.

  • Test by creating a new contact under any Customer/Vendor record to confirm the issue is resolved.

This update should fix both the previously affected records and any newly created ones.
