Note: For QuickBooks Online users, QuickBooks Online currently does not support Sales Orders, even though Method does. Thus, if you create a sales order in Method, this will not sync to QuickBooks and taxes will not calculate. However, if you create an invoice from this sales order, the invoice will sync to QuickBooks.
When your customer has accepted the terms of your estimate, you can create a sales order from the estimate. The following steps will walk you through the process of converting an estimate into a sales order.
Create a Sales Order from an Estimate
The first step is to find the Estimate. There are a number of ways to find the estimate, either through the customer view, or from the Estimates app. In this example, we will go through the Estimates app.
Click Active on your Estimates App.
This opens your Estimates List. Locate the estimate you wish to convert and click on it. You can search manually or use the search function at the top of the screen.
At the bottom of the estimate, click Create [ ∨ ] and the select Create Sales Order.
This takes you to the Sales Orders App to create your sales order, with all of the fields populated from the estimate. For more information on sales orders, check our article Creating a Sales Order.
