When a zap triggers, you can set it to do a number of Method Actions in Zapier.
When you click on the dropdown to Choose an event, there will be two types of actions Method you can do:
Create Actions - Actions that will create a record within in your Method account.
Search Actions - Actions that will search for and return a record (if it exists) from your Method account.
This article will detail the create actions and list out the information each action expects in order to successfully complete.
For a look at Method's Zapier Create actions, please see our article Method Zapier - list of Search Actions.
Method Create Actions
These are the actions which can create a record in Method:
Add Activity: Creates a new activity in Method.
Add Contact to Existing Entity: This will add a contact to an already existing customer, lead, or vendor.
Add Customer or Customer Lead (QuickBooks Only): Adds a new customer or customer lead to Method attached to a QuickBooks account.
Add Customer/Vendor or Customer/Vendor Lead (Xero Only): Adds a new customer/vendor or customer/vendor lead to Method attached to a Xero account.
Add Generic Entry: This allows you to add a record to any existing table in Method.
Add Opportunity: Adds a new opportunity to Method.
Tables within Method have a number of fields and they cannot all be listed, so with each create action, Zapier also allows you to insert data into "custom" fields.
This allows you to enter data into any field of the table.
On the left text box, you will enter the field name. This must be spelled exactly, and must already exist in the table.
The dropdown box on the right allows you to specify the data you wish to enter into the field.
The plus and minus allows you to add or remove fields.
NOTE: The 'customer' fields you add in Zapier must already exist in the table in Method. They can be stock fields or custom fields you created yourself, but they must already exist.
