Method's Runtime AI

Quickly customize a live screen with Method's runtime AI.

Quickly customize a screen you are viewing. All changes will affect the view for everyone on your account.

On a screen's title bar is a customize button. This will allow for everyday screen changes while you work. For example:

  • list views and columns

  • moving, and adding fields

  • hide elements you don't need

All changes land straight onto the live screen. The Reset confirmation says changes affect everyone on the account.

📌 Note: This is only available for screens built with Builder. Screens built with the older Designer interface will not have the Customize button.

Customizing the screen

On the screen you wish to customize, click the Customize button and then select Quick Customize with AI.

This will open up a panel on the right-hand side of the screen.

  1. The x icon will hide the panel.

  2. This shows the screen you are currently working on.

  3. Textbox to enter in your prompt.

  4. The dropdown allows you to switch between Build mode and Ask mode. Customize defaults to Build mode.

❗️Remember: AI can make mistakes. Review before applying changes.

Prompt tips

  • Use the label you see on screen. However, words used in context will work. For example, “internal notes” found the field labelled Memo (Internal).

  • Say exactly where you wish to place things:

    • “below Opportunity”

    • “next to the Sync with QuickBooks toggle”

    • “to the first position”

  • Give new views a name:

    • “a view called High-value estimates”

  • One change per request. Check it, then ask for the next one.

  • If adding or updating a record, save it before prompting the AI.

Note for Customizers

If you are used to customizing, you may be aware that stock pages have versions, and any changes you make are done on a new copy of the page.

This is not true with Quick Customize with AI. All changes are patched onto the live screen. In order for you to see these changes, or undo the changes, you will need to refer to the previous section.

Furthermore, if you were to customize the screen yourself, all changes made will be merged into the copy you create to edit.
