Using the Pipeline view

See your opportunities as cards on a board, and drag them between stages as deals progress.

The Opportunities List has two tabs: Pipeline and List. The Pipeline tab shows your opportunities as cards on a Kanban board, with one column for each stage of your pipeline, so you can see at a glance where every deal stands and move it forward by dragging it to the next stage.

The List tab is the grid of opportunities listed by date.

📌 Note: If your account has a customized Opportunities List screen, it keeps its own version and doesn't get the Pipeline tab automatically. To add a board to your own screen, see Add a Kanban board to a customized Opportunities List.

Kanban board

Each column on the board is one of your opportunity stages.

  • Open stages come first, ordered by their probability percent.

  • Closed Won comes next, then Closed Lost.

  • A stage that has been deactivated has no column.

To change which stages you have, or how they are ordered, see Create / Edit an Opportunity Stage.

Each column header shows:

Header

Shows

Stage

The name of the stage.

Count

How many opportunities are in the stage.

Total

The total Amount of those opportunities.

Within the column are cards representing each opportunity:

Card field

Amount

The opportunity's amount.

Assigned To

The Method user the opportunity is assigned to.

Close date

Click a card to open the opportunity.

Move an opportunity to another stage

  1. On the Pipeline tab, find the opportunity's card.

  2. Drag the card to the column for its new stage and drop it.

The opportunity's stage updates to the stage you dropped it on. Its probability percent and pipeline amount update to match the new stage, and the column counts and totals in the headers update too. If the new stage is a closed one, the close date is set to today.

To close an opportunity, drag it to the Closed Won or Closed Lost column. See Close a Sales Opportunity for what happens when you do.

📌 Note: Dragging a card is the same as changing the Stage on the opportunity itself. If you need to change other details at the same time, click the card to open the opportunity instead.

Choose which opportunities to show

The board has two views:

  • Active Opportunities: All open opportunities, plus recently closed ones. This is the default.

  • My Active Opportunities: Only the opportunities assigned to you.

The Closed Won and Closed Lost columns show only the most recently closed opportunities, from this week. To find older closed opportunities, use the List tab.

You can also narrow down the cards:

  • Search: Matches anything shown on a card.

  • Filter: Filter by Amount, Assigned To, Close date, Customer or Name.

Good to know

  • A column shows up to 100 cards. The count and total in its header always include every opportunity in that stage, even if some cards aren't displayed.

  • Reorders don't appear on the board. Find them in the Open Reorders view on the List tab. See Reorder previously purchased items.

  • To see your opportunities in a grid, switch to the List tab.
