Why Your Transactional Email Isn’t Sending (and How to Fix It)

If you tried to send a transactional email and it failed to go through, this typically happens because the sending email address wasn’t verified yet.

Here’s how to check and resolve the issue.

View Blocked Emails

  1. Click your profile icon in the top navigation, and select Account Settings.

  2. Select Communications.

  3. Click View all emails to see the status of every email you’ve tried to send.

  4. Look for emails marked as blocked — this indicates they weren’t delivered.

  5. When you select a blocked email, you’ll see more details about why it failed.

Most often, the issue is related to the sender address — e.g., whether it exists in your account and whether it’s verified.

Verify Email Senders

  1. Return to the main Communications page and select the Email Senders tab.

  2. Look through the list for senders with pending verification.

  3. Confirm the sender exists: If the email address you are sending from doesn’t appear in this list at all, then you will need to either:

  4. Verify the email address

    • If the sender appears but their status is Verification email sent., they still need to verify their email via the verification email. Once confirmed, that sender becomes enabled.

    • If the email sender cannot find the email, you can resend the verification email via the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to the address.

Why Verification Matters

Email platforms require verification of sender addresses to ensure that:

  • the address exists,

  • you have access to its inbox, and

  • you have permission to send from it.

This helps protect against spoofing and spam, and improves your deliverability overall. Clicking the verification link proves ownership and allows Method to send emails on your behalf.

Tips for Avoiding Email Delivery Issues

  • Always use a valid, monitored email address — especially for transactional or support emails.

  • Check spam or junk folders for your verification messages.

  • Resend the verification email if you didn’t get it the first time.
