In Method:Donor, a donor is created as a customer in the Contacts App and synced to QuickBooks accounting as a customer.
Creating a customer is always the same, it's done via the New Contact screen in the Contacts App. However, we provide different ways to access this screen to better serve whichever workflow process you are comfortable with.
Add a New Donor From the Dashboard
Click ⊕ New on your Contacts App, or click ⊕ New Contact in your Contacts List.
This will take you to the New Contact screen. Select Customer if it is not already selected.
Filling in the rest of the details should be pretty straightforward. However, if you need further help, please see our article Create a Customer. When you are done, click Save.
After you save your new donor, you will be taken to a screen to view them. On the right, you will see related activities and donations. Select the Donations tab.
To add a new Donation for this donor, select the ⊕ New Donation link.

Add a New Donor While Adding a New Donation
If you are taking a donation, and your donor doesn't exist in Method:Donor yet, you can create a new donor at the same time you are adding a new donation.
Click ⊕ New on your Donations App, or ⊕ New Donation from the Donations List screen to start creating a new donation.
This opens the New Donation screen. Click the down arrow [

], to expand the drop down and click the link called New Donor.This will take you to the New Contact screen. Select Customer if it is not already selected.
Fill out the information and save your new donor. You will be taken back to the new donation screen with the new donor pre-selected.
