Email Sending Limitations

Email providers have some restrictions how many emails you can send.

When you set up an email server in Method, Method sends emails out on your behalf using your email provider.

In order to prevent potential spamming, most email providers limit the number of emails you can send in a 24 hour period, as well as the maximum email size limit.

Method Email Sending Limitations

The total size of your email, including attachments, must be less than 30MB.

Depending on whether or not you are on a trial subscription, the following limitations apply:

No email can be sent

*NOTE: Every recipient added to the email counts towards the email limit. If you have an email with four CC's and one BCC, that counts as five email recipients towards your free email limit.

Note: If your QuickBooks or Xero accounting software is a trial subscription, you cannot send any email. No error will be generated, however, in the email log you will see a "Blocked" status.


Google

Google Apps SMTP server limits restrict the number of messages sent per day and the number of recipients per message. After reaching one of these limits, a user cannot send new messages for up to 24 hours.

Note: Even if you've reached one of these limits, you can still receive incoming email.

Below is a comprehensive list of limits.


Office 365

Office 365 users are limited by the following:

  • 10,000 sent email messages per day

  • 500 recipients total for a single email

  • 30 emails sent per minute
